Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing I love more than an indulgent bath time ritual, but sometimes, when time is tight, I look for products that get to work quickly. Even when I’m in a rush, I try not to compromise on my skincare routine.
And so I’ve tracked down some products that make me feel pampered even when the clock is against me. These beauty buys are hardworking, multi-tasking heroes.
First up is Dr Perricone’s Refreshing Shower Mask (£32 for 74ml, available at perriconemd.co.uk). Slather this on before stepping into the shower, and its soothing gel formula protects your face from the heat. For anyone who suffers from broken veins and capillaries, this mask is an absolute must-have. Packed full of green tea, olive leaf and turmeric, it is lightweight enough to stay firmly in place, and its tingling sensation really wakes up my skin. I rinse off just before stepping out of the shower, and my complexion feels smooth and refreshed.
Another great in-shower skincare buy is Ren’s Flash 1 minute facial (£33 for 75ml, available at spacekn.co.uk). This formula, containing coconut, orange and sunflower oils should be applied in the shower every three days. And this facial really does do what it says on the tin. Its benefits get to work quickly, and my face feels instantly soothed and resurfaced. This silky smooth formula also tackles the effects of sun damage and aging, and brightens my dull, winter skin.
Up your shower gel game with L’Occitane’s Almond Shower Oil (£18 for 250ml, available at johnlewis.com). This luxuriously rich oil turns to a lather on contact with water and gets your skin squeaky clean without drying it out. I also use this product while shaving, as it helps to prevent any little nicks or cuts. It also smells divine – filling my bathroom with the gorgeous scent of almonds.
If you’re someone, like me, who can’t bear not to moisturise even when you’re in a rush, then the Sanctuary’s Wet Skin Moisture Miracle (£8 for 200ml, available at boots.com) is just the thing for you. I must admit I was sceptical – not drying my skin before applying moisturiser – but it leaves beyond a gorgeous smelling sheen. The science behind it is interesting, too. Getting to work when your skin is at peak hydration – i.e. soaking wet – it locks in moisture, and apricot and avocado oils keep you silky smooth all day. Simply step out of the shower and apply before drying.
So there you have it – the speedy way to look after your skin. If you have any time saving beauty tricks, pop them in the comments below.
