Smart, sassy, funny. I’ve always been a girl fan of TV and radio powerhouse, Gaby Roslin. From her Big Breakfast days to her current home at BBC radio, I quizzed the blonde bombshell on all things beauty, health and life.

Gaby which three beauty items could you not live without?Mascara. I am loving the new ‘Bad Gal Bang’ from Benefit. Secondly, lip gloss. I have so many in my make-up bag and my favourite is L’Oréal’s liquid lipstick, which unfortunately they have now stopped making. I found some online and bought them all up as I know I’ll never be able to find anything as good or that exact colour again (I have looked everywhere!) Lastly, the NIOD skincare range. But I do love make-up. I am a make-up junkie!

What’s your skincare regime, and does this differ morning to night?Every evening I use Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm and a warm cloth to remove my face make-up. On my eyes, I use Clinique Take the Day Away. Then, for my skin, I use NIOD CAIS, MMHD and FECC morning and night. My daytime moisturiser is Manuka Doctor, Facial Moisturising Lotion. And at night, I use Cult51 Night Cream. I also love adding the James Read H2O Gradual tan drops to my night cream. It gives a lovely glow.

What’s your biggest beauty faux pas?I always use fake tan and have done for years. I now swear by James Read products as they produce a great colour without being too drying. Clarins Gel Tan is also good. But I have tried others in the past that made me go very, very orange.

What’s been your most extravagant beauty splurge?I suppose my night cream, Cult51. I do think it’s overpriced. I love that NIOD is great value for money. I also LOVE By Terry products, three of which I use every day: Terrybly Densiliss foundation (mixed with Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter which is INCREDIBLE and not too pricey), and Terry Touche Veloutee, finished off with Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder. All very expensive but very wonderful!

When, and what, was your last beauty treatment?I tried CACI for the second time a couple of weeks ago and had 6 sessions. I went to Seduire salon in London’s Soho and had the CACI Synergy. I could certainly see a difference around my jaw line. My skin felt great afterwards, as well as slightly lifted. I also LOVE Marie Reynolds facials using the LED lights and her wonderful products. When she’s in London I try to see her. She is a gem of a person.

What’s your best beauty tip or trick to share with the readers of You Glow Girl?I always wipe my face with cold water on cotton wool first thing in the morning, and before its totally dry I start my serums. It wakes me up and gets rid of any early morningness around my eyes. And since finding the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter (I use number 3) I swear it helps with a glow, even if you’re not feeling very glowy! And of course, as mentioned above, the gradual H2O tan drops in my night cream.

Who is your beauty idol? I love reading anything by Sali Hughes. And also you, lovely Lisa! I think Jennifer Aniston always looks fab.

How do you motivate yourself? Being positive. I’m lucky that I’m quite disciplined and motivated when it comes to fitness and health. After the school run I try and get to the gym 3/4 times a week, and then I walk absolutely everywhere. I walk from home to meeting, then on to the next meeting, then home again in time to collect my daughters. I can walk anything from 5-15 miles a day. I have my Christmas present from my husband, my FitBit Blaze, to thank for my motivation! I can see an unbelievable difference since walking, not only in my body but also in my mind. It’s great for the outer body but also good for the heart and the soul. Most of my ideas come when I walk.

What do you do to cheer yourself up? Smile, and be daft. My Instagram is full of total madness and that’s what I love, having a laugh and being positive. Also, hot baths. I am addicted to walking and hot baths. Can’t do without either.

What makes you happy? My family first and foremost, and working on live TV. That is my drug of choice and I hope I never have to give it up. I also love fashion and shoes. And being silly!

What makes you angry? Bigots. Why hate anyone, especially because of their colour, religion or sexuality.

Which beauty trend do you wish would go away? To be honest, I don’t follow beauty trends, and so I don’t let that worry me. Although I’m not a fan of matt lipsticks. They make everyone’s lips look like they’re slightly chapped.

How do you make an entrance at a party? Nervously. When I was a young teenager I was unbelievably shy and sometimes that teenager in me pops back up and I get terrified of walking into a party. No one believes that I’m shy, but I really am. Lip gloss and a smile helps though!
