Yes, come ear, I have something to tell you. This is my beauty confessional booth. I have embarked on a radial treatment and, boy, am I happy. You see, I have succumbed to the needle. Not in my lips or my cheeks or my butt. No, this one’s a bit less conventional.

I’ve had an ear job. What’s that? I ear you say (sorry, pun intended)! Yes, an ear job – that’s really thing! Here’s how I ended up giving my lobes a little love . . .

It was a completely spontaneous decision, and wasn’t at all what I’d had in mind when I booked an appointment to meet with Dr. Maryam Zamani. I’d gone to pick her brains about a course of IPL skin rejuvenation. This uses intense pulse light to help combat pigmentation, broken veins, capillaries, and wrinkles. It’s great for an overall complexion freshen-up.

Briefly sticking with the topic IPL, Dr. Zamani assessed my skin and said I was the perfect candidate for this treatment. She was super complimentary about how I’d been looking after my skin, so was slowly becoming one of my favourite people!

But. Dr. Zamani then noticed my ears. I wasn’t wearing earrings, which is unusual for me – my lobes are normally loaded with an assortment of jewels, all of which I sleep in, too. By not having the ear bling in for once, she was able to see the state of my lobes.

Now, this wasn’t news to me. Over the ears – sorry years, I couldn’t help myself! – my lobes seemed to have aged faster than the rest of me. My Mum also suffers with collagen depleted earlobes, so I put it down to it being hereditary, not helped by the fact I sleep curled up like a pretzel. And this isn’t just bad for my ears. I often wake up with lines all over my face, looking like I could do with an iron!

I’ve tried really hard to switch to sleeping on my back and using silk pillowcases. But come morning I wake up the same: in the fetal position with my face scrunched up. So, when Dr. Zamani suggested ear fillers, I couldn’t help but feel intrigued. I noticed her own lobes, too: perfectly full and baby-soft looking. It’s safe to say I was sold.

The treatment itself was pretty mesmerizing. I even held up a mirror so I could watch her every move. There were three little pin prick injections, each one bringing my lobes back to life – inflating before my very eyes! Admittedly, the first injection was quite uncomfortable, but as they went on the anesthetic (which is mixed in with the hyaluronic acid) works to numb any discomfort. But honestly, I was so enthralled by the whole practice that I didn’t focus too much on the pain.

Having always been dubious about going under the needle. I’m pleased I started here and am thrilled with the results! Every woman must make her own decisions about which treatments she feels comfortable with, but after years of feeling self-conscious about my ears, I’m pleased to have found the solution.

Hi Claudia, it’s really not cheap, and depends how much of the filler she would need to use. As you could see mine were needed quite a lot but everyone’s ear shape is different. LSxx
